Why do I receive "The file is not compatible with iPod. Please convert the file before copying" error?
Please open SoundTaxi settings and find Encoder for Audio files / Encoder for video files. Check your output file format currently selected. Most probably, there were selected the output file format, which is not compatible with iPod/iPhone/iPad. That's why you can receive "The file is not compatible with iPod. Please convert the file before copying" error.
How to fix "The file is not compatible with iPod. Please convert the file before copying" error?
In order to fix this problem, please convert your files to an iPod / iPhone / iPad compatible format.
iPod/iPhone/iPad audio formats supported: MP3 (MPEG layer-3), M4A (MPEG4 AAC).
iPod/iPhone/iPad video formats supported: iPod MPEG4 Video (MP4).
Please open SoundTaxi Settings and find "Encoder for audio files". You can select MP3 or M4A (MPEG4 AAC) format from the drop-down list.
If you want to convert video files to an iPod / iPhone / iPad compatible format, please select iPod/iPhone/iPad Video (MP4) from the drop-down list (Settings->Ecoder for video files).
After the appropriate file format is selected, close the settings by clicking "OK" and run the conversion. Select the converted files and click the "Copy to iPod" button. The converted files will be trasnferred directly to you device.
